Terms of Service

Last updated 4 June 2026

By using renameafile.com (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The service

renameafile is a free tool that lets you rename files in your web browser. All processing happens locally on your device; we do not receive or store your files. The Service is provided free of charge and without any requirement to create an account.

Acceptable use

You agree to use renameafile only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for the files you choose to rename and for keeping your own backups. Do not use the Service to handle content you do not have the right to use.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your particular needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, renameafile and its operators shall not be liable for any loss or damage, including lost or corrupted files, arising from your use of the Service. Because renaming downloads new copies and never modifies your originals, you should always keep your original files until you are satisfied with the result.

Intellectual property

The renameafile name, logo, and site design are the property of their owner. The files you rename remain entirely yours.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
